The idea for a Latinos and Planning podcast first came up as the leadership team began planning for the division’s first ever virtual conference, LUGARES, in 2020.

After months of talking through the idea, members Leonor Vanik, James Castañeda and Grecia White, recorded a short audio clip introducing the Plan Dulce podcast to the world in the summer of 2021.

Since then, the podcast has highlighted stories from Latino/a/x planners working across the U.S. and internationally to improve the spaces we inhabit@

Now in 2025, the podcast is headed by Vidal Marquez, Keyanna Ortiz-Cedeno, and Haydee Urita Lopez.

Where Are We Headed?

We started off the year by inspiring more volunteers that bring so much value and insight to this group; we have about 7 Plan Dulce podcast volunteers engaging in monthly team calls to continue to brainstorm on a spectrum of topics that highlight the diversity and resilience of Latino communities.

In 2025, we hope to uplift more stories and engage with Latino/a/x Planners across the country and continue to highlight accomplishments that inspire many planners as they navigate their own journeys and find strength in knowing that a whole network of planners are here to support them.
